It was not only Americans but people from more than 80 countries died on that day in the US incl 28 Japanese. You talk about 'atrocities during WWII' ... I am aware of what we did to Chinese etc, but at the same time, you've gotta read Robert Stinnett's "Day Of Deceit: The Truth About FDR and Pearl Harbor" to realize what FDR plotted.
