@floodedcar123 The problem is the small C1 loading gauge leading to rather restrictive tunnels. All the locos had to be small by international standards. These 0-6-2s had a simple job taking coal from the South Wales valleys a short distance to the ports of Barry and Cardiff, running cab-first down hill. They did OK at this. But they were dwarfed by North American coal operations!
