CONGRATS on learning sign language for your daughter!!! I am an ASL/English interpreter and have a master's degree that allowed me to delve into language, deaf culture, and interpreting research. Did you know that by giving your daughter language early her English skills will likely be *better* than any hard of hearing or deaf kids whose parents focus only on speaking, lipreading and residual hearing? GOOD FOR YOU!!!

this is really sweet :)
The sign for "birth" is usually holding your left arm out in front of you (across your chest) and bringing your right hand underneath your left arm (representing birth). That's how I did it (you can check out my vid).
Or, a less formal way of doing it is to simply touch your middle finger from your chin to your upper chest (and don't even sign the "day" part).

@Voileen Thank you for the tips!!! :) I did see the less formal way a couple days after I made the video... think that would have been a lot easier...lol. Thanks again! :)

No, your signing wasn't perfect. But I don't think you have any idea how special that was. :) That was such a sweet thing to do for her, adn your signing, while not perfect, was still not bad and full of love. :)
