@DDentonas I'll agree with you as far as the first two movies go. The game, however, is where we'll have to agree to disagree; I thought it was pretty good, and most of the people I've seen complain about it did so about mechanics issues, not the writing.

@kantlavar Lets see this again.
1st movie was great!
2nd movie was ok.
3d video game that was made by the same screenwriter and voiced by the guys sucked.
Do you see a trend here?

@CombatSportFan Yeah, although it's a comedy, it's also a masterclass in moviemaking. From a cultural reference pov it's also directed at kids in a very smart way: You have the army, the police, the secret service, priests and nuns - all the pillars of social authority and order - who suddenly can't do jack shit to fix things; and the only ones who can are some weirdos with rayguns and a funny car who believe in ghosts. That hits home very well with a young person's mind.

@JakeRichardson3d It Is is the coolest part of the film. And the funny thing is when I saw it as a kid it had a massive impact on me; now that I've studied script writing and movie making, I can break the scene down to pacing, music, camera angles, cultural references etc, and know exactly Why it is so damn cool.... And it's sad to realize they don't make films with those kind of scenes anymore...
We want 3!!!! We want 3!!!!

Viral marketing idea for a new movie:
Step 1: Get the Ecto, a police escort, and maybe some humvees into a convoy.
Step 2: Cruise NYC for a while.
Step 3: Let the locals post it on YouTube.
Step 4: Let us geeks spazz over it.
Step 5: Release Ghostbusters 3.
Step 6: Profit.
