Part 1 of a 15 minute interview. Jeweller and silversmith Thorkild Hansen, son of the late Jens Hansen, discusses how Jens Hansen came to create the One Ring for Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies.
Lots of workshop footage including metal crafting.

Recorded by local community TV station Bays TV in the Jens Hansen workshop in Nelson, New Zealand.

  • These guys are great! 1st Class gentlemen. I bought an 18k "One Ring" back in 2004 before gold became outrageously expensive. I think I paid around $825 for the ring, chain, and shipping. Now it's $2,420 minus shipping! I ordered on a early Monday morning (3am) and I believe the ring was at my house by Thursday morning. Fast with quick email replies before purchase and throughout the 3 day wait. Handmade, hand hammered. I guess now (according to the video) they use molds unlike the originals.
