Frigidaire final spin with Rapid-Dry 1000 RPM

This machine was built in 1966. This washer starts out on the Low speed spin, then shifts to Med speed, then finally shifts to the High speed Rapid-Dry 1000 Rpm spin.

The camera makes it look as if the entire cabinet is shaking, but only the spin tub itself is shaking.Ah yes, the wonders of digital.......

I have an idea that normally washers like this only spin about 500-700 rpm, but this one 1000!!

This washer is identical to the one we had back in the 60's. I remember when it would shift into these spin cycles, always thought it was going to take off! Mom loved it because the clothes were almost dry. Kept that washer till 79.

@DudeDie222 Indeed. It seemed like washing machines in many countries REALLY lost a lot of the good features they had in the early years (like fast spin, bleach "dispensers" that actually "dispensed", and didn't just "funnel"). I suppose manufacturers though they could more or less put out an extremely crappy product, but as long as "no one knew (or cared)", they could charge just as much for an inferior product.

that is one fast drain when spin water out......i suprise at force not come out drain pipe on floor alot

would been wonders if they ever kept makin Frigiadaire now and what they look and do today.....if GM are who ever bought kept on makin them now

Frigididaires also reached 1140 rpm when made in the 50's.

That reminds me of the 'time-travel machine' that my brother and I built when we were kids. It only worked for cats though.
