@Vmaxjorge Yeah, but you have to be going quite fast for the reserve to fail and twist like that.
-
you werent flying with an RSL were you?
-
@UrbanLeopard13 people actually jump outta the plane without a backup? Heck if it was me, I'd have 3 chutes not just one.
-
Damn dude. If you didn't wear your back up...You would be fertilizer right now.
-
is there a possibility that the reserve opens the same way the main did? I mean with the same malfunction?
-
@hedgehogtk Oh yeah absolutely just dumb luck. I sold that rig. Way too small, but not before I had one other cutaway with that Microraven same wing loading and i dont think the flare slowed it down at all. Just hit the ground like a sack of shit with so much downward force i had to limp back to the DZ....(DZSO refused to pick me up in the van), faceplanted and rolled head over heels. That was enough....sold it straight away.

@ThePimpdaddy187 I'd say you were extremely lucky, a microraven 120 loaded with 100kilos is quite a lot overloaded, and would have stalled very quick if you had a chance to flare ...

Mine was scarier, 100kilo's using a 120 micro raven reserve, chopped 1000ish feet, deployed back to earth, felt the wind get knocked out lungs by reserve opening, cell's pressurized just below tree line height for a 1 sec canopy ride into a freshly plowed field...thank god for small mercies.(i packed a step thru)DZSO thought i was a goner, grounded me for 4 weeks the prick.. Yours was kinda scary though...but not really.

I'd prefer RSL i guess
long walks and patience ... ;)

the more I talk with people about it and other videos I saw... lazybag and wingsuits don't match that good imho... to many times linedumps and spun ups.

dude you were in the zone.... like christian bale in equilibrium...... didnt even say a word.... seeing as its probs your body position causing twists, what would you change in that situation if you could go back?

@Catapultandclingfilm
If I could go back ?, I'd go for plan B, rightaway :-D

how high did you deploy your main, at what altitude were you under a reserve?

@braden252 the first optima warning was set at 3000, the second warning beep, is the swoop mode, which was set at 1200. So i'd say pull at 3000 reserve at 1800. Was a backspinning reservepull ... massive G forces, glad to have got out of that alive :)
