Here is some of what we do here at Hanger Prosthetics when we are working with bilateral above knee amputees and teaching them how to use the prosthesis in "real life" situations! Most anyone can walk in a therapy room with a flat floor and hand rails or strings from the ceiling but life happens outside in the daily environment! Stairs, ramps, curbs, hills are all part of daily life.

  • Today is my second day with my new above knee prosthetic, and WOW you guys make it all looks so easy! It's encouraging, though, and I KNOW I will walk without any crutches one day really soon. 99 percent of it is just finding the confidence in myself to do it! Great job all around!
