Actually this song is "folk related music". It was composed in the czech folk music style in 1978. As real folk music is cultural heritage, almost none of todays show business songs are real folk. Genuine but commercialized folk music:

rolandodavinchi, OK, thanks. Actually G&E's music has evolved over the decades, and might now be described as Volkstümliche-Schlager. Whatever term one uses, they are wonderful performers.
In the USA, we have lost this music, as we now get barbaric, profane, tribal drumming and shouting from car stereos and radio broadcasts here.

Composer Christian Bruhn is much more talented as Dieter Bohlen (Modern Talking).
Bruhn music is so much different. He composed Volksmusik, but also Schlager and new age styled german soundtrack for the cartoon series "Captain Future", which is known world wide as the best version. The He composed also much more soundtracks for TV.
