The final boss of the Soul of Chaos Water Shrine, Omega! Omega can be found in most of the later Final Fantasy games as the hardest enemy you get to face (or one of the toughest). I would have to say he is the toughest in this one as well!

Edge:
Excalibur
Diamond Shield
Diamond Helm
Diamond Armor
Genji Gloves

Yuber:
Masamune
Flame Shield
Mythril Helm
Diamond Armlet
Protect Ring

Xytras:
Kikuichimonji
Ice Shield
Mythril Helm
Ice Armor
Protect Ring

Gannon:
Thor's Hammer
Elven Cloak
Sage's Mitre
Sage's Surplice
Protect Ring

You will have to use Temper many, many times on your fighters in order to do some real damage on Omega. He has extremely high defense and you can't do decent damage without this strategy. He will cast Wave Cannon often, an attack that hits your entire party for about 400-600 damage each round. He also has brutal normal attacks! Make sure to make full use of Healaga and don't waste a single turn from any character. I used Xytras as my support Ninja that Tempers every round.

For winning this battle, you receive the Murasame Ninja Sword. This is the best Ninja Sword in the game (although Ninjas can also equip the Ultima Weapon anyway).

  • i wonder if this team is good for omega: Master, Ninja, White Wizard, Red Wizard. they are all at level 86. do u think im ready?

  • Yeah you can easily kill him...86 is ridiculous high...

  • wow, i have yet to beat this guy even tho i have ultima sword lol

  • Haha, interesting

  • Good job. I took him out with a Knight, a Red Wizard, Ninja, and White Wizard. Personally I thought Shinryu was a bit tougher, but either way, both want to make you pull your hair out.

  • Yeah they are both pretty tough, the only reason I thought Omega was a little more tough is because he does the group attack way more than Shinryu. Sometimes you'll get lucky and Shinryu will only hit 1 character for 600-700 instead of everyone for 500.

  • The first 1:00 reminds me of pokemon lol

  • Have you played Star Ocean The Last Hope? :D

  • @Xytrasx where did you get the Sage's Surplice and Sage's Mitre

  • in my opinion this is one of the best FF i haved ever play... cuz you can choose the classes of ur 4 characters like u want at the beginig of the game =) ... Its simple, and very fun to play ..

    I only play FF 1, 2 &.......... 6 ( japan number )

  • if you think buffing characters like crazy is cheap, go try the best strategy in FF5 that works against him.

  • lol u upgraded him up the ass didnt you XD

  • omega is always one of the toughest enemies in the ff games. omega mark xii(from ffxii) is EXTREMELY hard, even in the easier american of the game.

  • (advice cont.) also, he has a weakness to lightening. just FYI. on the ribbons+rings, dont wear them all the time, just in big-time battles. btw, plz tell me what you think about YOUR strategies. i am trying a different set of units in my other file, so im open to suggestions. plz send it to my file.

  • well, im level 63 and i beat him, NO SWEAT! heres how: go to the caravan in the desert, buy 99 tonics and drinks of everything, and up ur monk/b-mage/theif and up them during battle with all the drinks and tonics, while your mage (if you have one) uses invisera. this will reduce his amount of hits (and dmg) IMMENSELY! after invisera, use protera for about 25-45 turns, and he will not do shit with his attacks. also, equipping ribbons and protect rings on everybody will stop his special attacks.

  • Yeah. The tactics for the bosses are pretty much the same in terms of offense in this game. It varies a bit with defense, though.

With Omega, it's all about physical defense and evasion, while Shinryu is more based on magic defense.
