Interesting how you got your friends in this. Hope their injuries heal up soon. Still, when you talk of origins, why not involve Master Hand in this? After all, he 'created' the Brawl universe by going into a toy box and morphing the figurines into their latest 3-D versions.

That would be good except Master Hand can only be controlled in Boss Battles right now, it's impossible to use him in other modes. Also, I wanted to create my very own storyline that didn't involve MH, but instead, involving the characters living inside a modified brawl world, AKA, Homebrew Channel/Ocarina world.
