It's a range of notes that an ocarina can play. Soprano is high, alto is lower, and tenor is even lower. so, yes it's like an octave. Also, did you figure out how to play this by your self, or did you find some sheet music or a website?

@argumentmaster997 Yes it's an octave there are 4 main octaves soprano (highest) alto (medium high) Tenor (medium low) and Bass (lowest)

@TW93AW Are you maybe thinking of the inca ocarina? :) Its a round shape with a small bit poking out, if ya know what I mean. :D
