@KeeKeeDi .....so that is why....it was Shep who did both. I heard this way back then and said that someone was imitating Get Into the Groove.

@ShadesOfRapture Yep it's Shep. In fact he was Alisha's producer and created the song for her. His favourite ever baseline is the one he created for Into The Groove ( as stated in the inlay notes for Madonna's You Can Dance) so he re-shuffled it and used for Baby Talk.

Soundtrack to the 80's

@PAYBACKiszaB2 Couldn't agree with you more! I definitively love that kind of Accapella part, and I found 4 different 12' versions ot this masterpiece in my collection...
Thanxalot for bringing this tune and those different versions "alive" again here on Youtube!! :o)

I miss the late 80's early 90's dance clubs and the extended versions of songs. Used to dance at "Stage One" in Calumet City, IL before it burned down:-( The DJ was the greatest; owners were great! Small club, everyone knew everyone, I miss those days! "Baby Talk", "Fire in the Sky" among many others were GREAT!

OMG THE 80'S HAD THE BEST REMIX SONGS , LOVE THIS SONG THANK YOU .
I like that sneaky punchy part of the bassline in "Get Into The Groove" i bet Shep was laughing and having fun with that bassline back in the studio.

A wonderful tune and a classic floorfiller back in 1985/86 - at least here in Sweden! :o)

@snucke62a Here in the US too!!! I heard it on radio all the time, various versions, i always liked the part when they broke it down and you heard that synth and then she was sort of Accappella singing~!

Wow. This version I don't have. I love it!!! 1. I like this song better than "into the groove". 2. To bad they don't make long remixes anymore (except in the house scene). Nowadays remixes are just as long as the original song. Probably because people do not have the patience nor the ears to listen to long intro's without a voice. I am a DJ and I notice that people have a hard time recognizing songs when the voice isn't there.
