R.I.P. Rodney

Rodney Dangerfield was a machine gun comedian. In 5-minutes, he'd tell 50-jokes. He was the best and he is missed by millions of fans.

he appeared in little nicky , not sure when that was

At age 65+ I'm starting my comedy career. I have respect for Rodney! At least I have a full-time job so I do not have to worry...
Last night I went to a brothel..........
(you will have to pay to hear the rest)

Saw this episode, R.I.P.

@pshinspections Pryor started out clean. One could remove the profanity from his act, it would still be funny. Rodney could do clean and dirty. IT was his gift. George Carlin could also do clean and dirty, he started out clean, then went dirty.
Dice Clay uses profanity as a crutch, and it shows. He's washed up now, because he never went outside of his comfort zone, and his act, like every non evolving comedian, grew stale and died.

@MrFrankCalzone I don't think anyone knew it was going to be his final performance. :(

A) Richard Pryor and Rodney Dangerfield are two completely different types of comedians. This is like comparing Jerry Seinfeld to Chris Rock or Jerry Lewis to Bernic Mac- there simply is no answer, it is all opinion-based.
B) Their subject matters are completely different. Rodney's jokes were very self-deprecating and reflective while Pryor was more observational/ social commentator
C) If you can't take profanity, I suggest you fucking grow a pair of balls you pussy. (Hint: that was a joke).
Rodney is the best still..Did it in a way nobody else will ever do again..RIP

@pshinspections Pyror and Rodney were totally different. Richard did bared his soul to the audience and told his life story. He used profanity not as a crutch but because thats how he actually TALKED.
Rodney is brilliant as well, but he came from a totally different era of comedy, he'd be doing standup for 20years before Pryor started.
You simply can't compare the two, its like comparing Frank Sinatra and The Beatles.
