It's hard to think of this small NZ town as having all the things of a modern larger city, but your vid here clearly shows that it does.
There must be more hustle and bustle in the Summer, as I only saw the town by intercity bus in the Winter.

I live just outside LA. I used to live at 24 Preston St. This film says it all. I took this drive too many times and had to find a longer road. Didn't realize for decades just how special and unique Timaru is, in it's own retarded way. Being down graded from a city to a town, well that's pretty unique. Never the less I'm proud to have come from Timaru.

Hey, great job!
I had a penpal from Timaru a long time ago, back in the late 70s or early 80s. Her name was Daveana McCone. It'd be great to hear from her again after all this time!
The good thing is that now I can see Timaru. I used to wonder how it would look like. Photos and postage between NZ and Spain were very expensive at that time, besides my penpal and I were only young students so we did not really exchange many photos.
It looks like a really nice place.
Cheers from Spain.
Love it, if you know my darling bro, Simon Clark send him hi from me, and maybe see you there in Timaru.

Living in England.. I typed in New Zealand Traffic with one reason.. see if there where any old British Mundane Motors still running around!!
And youve got an Escort Jon!!
Are there any more Marinas Cortinas Avengers and Maxis still doing stuff in those beautiful islands! Id go and retire there if I could find a Maxi to live out my driving days!

Mate, you are in luck - YES there are plenty older British cars still on the roads here in NZ - esp the ones that you've named! (Chances are theres more Marinas and Cortinas here then in Britain)- in the other Timaru vid I did other traffic included a Mk1 Escort, 1960s Vauxhall Victor and a Bedford camper!
BTW older Brits are normally cheap to buy here (avg price equivalent below 750 quid) (prices are starting to go upwards though!) and cheap to run and maintain...
