@ChrispyShuffle777 You are so right. We have a church culture saturated in phariseeism, and most of us coming out of it have that nipping at our heels at all times. When our Christianity is defined by correct beliefs, doing it right and believing it right, we miss relationship and the enjoyment of God. If we have spent any time in church at all, we are infected.

When the apostles were filled with the spirit in Acts, everyone thought they were drunk. Ever wonder what that must have looked like? The truth is us "Christians" have made our God into a culture and seek more to serve God then to experience Him. Yes. We are the Pharisees of today, thinking we have such close relationships with God, yet hurting what God wants to do by caging Him. Jesus rebuked people like us....

Surely Jesus didnt walk around acting crazy, being drunk and talking stupidly about "drunken glory" from the holy spirit. please do everyone a favor and go to bible college.

@maxpayne0974 Good point!! But I think Paul's reference to "sober" equates to walking in the Spirit. He says, "sober-minded and alert," meaning to be aware and listening to the Spirit. If someone is influenced by the Spirit, they are default sober.

@blackendsky13 lol, i dig it. sober minded people who refuse to enjoy God's intoxicating love will always strive and shove. God just says rest, and enjoy Me. By doing so, you may perform what some call "work", but rather, this is all play in the Kingdom. sober minded in the flesh is NOT the same as sober minded in the Spirit (which is actually drunk on His love). sober minded in the ego generally equates to taking oneself too seriously (pride)
