I gladly signed the petition. Neil is NOT "one of the best drummers in the world" though, Neil Peart IS the BEST drummer in the world. He's the master.

Also, of course Neil wouldn't compare himself to Buddy; he is one of the man's great heroes/influences. No one every compares himself to his heroes. You just don't do it. No matter how good you've gotten, your heroes are always "better", you know what I mean?
Peart has etched his own corner of the drumming universe and continues to be a craftsman of the highest standard. He doesn't get lazy with his musicianship and always pushes himself to perform to his absolute best.
