On what's wrong with religious views on atheists.

Correction: it's 0.2% of the population, not 2%. Thank you to everyone who pointed that out.

  • It is very hard for someone to come out of the "Atheist" closet, I came out about 6 years ago and it was very difficult to lose many so called friends at the time. I give props to you, that son who's mother flipped out on, and all the other self outed freethinkers, atheists and agnostics.

  • I'm agnostic, used to be evengelical. I can understand why parents react with such extreme emotion. They really believe their kids will spend eternity in hell. That's hard to take, sometimes causes an extreme emotinal reaction. I feel sorry for people caught up in religion.

  • "Not believing in god i can understand but atheist?" - One line says it all

  • @VulnarKawarZ makes it a noun meaning knowledge (broken down like that). And yes, religion is completely based on faith. I ask you to provide proof of the magical man in the sky you talk about, yet all you can say is to have faith (for something that is NOT self evident)? So basically what I got is this: You can't prove your magical man in the sky theory so you found some numbers on the internet that couldn't be proven. One problem. You still CAN'T prove the magical man in the sky theory.

  • @VulnarKawarZ ax·i·om [ak-see-uhm]

    1. a self-evident truth that requires no proof.

Did you read the last two words? NO PROOF. That takes care of your first 3 paragraphs. "Science is a belief system." Wtf? No it's not. It is an understanding of our world. There is no faith needed because only stuff we KNOW is science. Hence the word for "to know" is scire. Notice the first 3 letters of the word for know are the exact same letters and the word science. The "ence" at the end basically

  • @VulnarKawarZ suddenly. As with the whole black hole thing, they don't just pop up out of nowhere, and it's not like they can't be detected. They are just very massive stars. VERY massive. Well, not really stars, but you know what I mean. Heavenly bodies. How about that? But really? REALLY? They just pop up out of nowhere and everything is gone? LOL! I believe you've read too much crazy shit about 2012... ROFL!

  • @VulnarKawarZ Apes can't speak because they, like all other animals, never evolved rapid speech patterns. Besides, I don't think you have ever taken a statistics class. If we study enough apes, we can be nearly certain (but never completely) that they still can't talk. It's not our fault nature never gave them a need to develop vocal chords. The sun will rise tomorrow because our planet is still spinning. Although it is slowing down, it is very unlikely that something will cause it to stop

  • @VulnarKawarZ happen in something such as a water distiller. It's the same principle, it's just people don't want to believe. Also, there is a big difference between science and theory. People theorized that the earth was the center of the universe, but they had no proof. Science wasn't wrong, just a theory was wrong. As for the whole universe being a gigantic holographic matrix thing you said... LOL!

  • @VulnarKawarZ No it's not. Science is proof, not belief. Science is data. Evidence. Things that we don't have to try to convince people are real (unlike gods) because even they can go out and see for themselves that the science is true. Here's an example. God makes rain (I am not saying you are a christian or believe in a god, only providing an example). We KNOW, not believe, that rain comes from water vapor condensing in the atmosphere. Christians, along with everyone else, can see this

  • @VulnarKawarZ What are you talking about?
