The roar of the four wheeler was so loud, she couldn't even hear herself think. The helmet was snug on her head, and she looked down at the Fox Racing jersey that she had grabbed from Julie's drawer before slipping out. She felt extremely guilty, but she didn't have much of a choice. The rain was misting down, and she prayed that she remembered the way back to Julie's house. One hand was shaking over the brakes, and the other was firmly grasping the gas. She was flying, and her long blonde hair was whipping around her. She circled around to the garage and slid the four wheeler in place as smoothly as she could.

Tiptoeing back into the house, she slid the jersey off and threw it in the basket that had all of Julie's dirty clothes. She walked into the kitchen wearing only her bra and some racing pants, and grabbed some paper towels. She polished off the helemet, then sat it on the rack. Walking back into Julie's bedroom, she noticed that the clock read 8:39. Julie was still sound asleep. She slid off the racing pants, threw them in a closet, and slipped on her pajamas, and laid back down on the bed.

"What you waiting on Em, come sit down!" Emily Roark smiled, and sauntered to her usual spot at the lunch table. Maria Bowling smiled, and brushed back her freshly dyed brown hair back. Julie Boyd sighed and turned her back to Maria. Two other girls, Savannah Phillips and Hunter Lee, kept looking down, trying not to laugh.

"So what's the big news? Macie said something about Julie going out with Hunter?" Emily asked, opening her Coke. Julie's face flushed a deep red. "So it's true?"

Maria piped up. "You bet. Little Julie's so embarrassed."

Julie spun around. Julie was nothing close to little, she was probably the most athletic, most tomboyish person at Blacksburg. "For the record, I am NOT embarrassed. But someone with a big mouth, MARIA, told the whole school."

Savannah then began busting out laughing. "What?!" Julie cried.

"I'm sorry, but HUNTER WRIGHT!? My god, he could be Goliath!" Savannah choked out through her tears. Julie folded her arms.

"You guys are downright bitches."

Emily smiled. "Thanks babe, I take that as a compliment."

Julie smirked, then her face went serious. "Hey Em, did you wear my racing jersey this weekend?"

Emily shook her head no. She was a good liar; she inherited from her cousins. "Oh...well, it got washed and I was confused. It might have been Gracie, I don't know." Julie shrugged, and took a sip of her sweet tea.

Emily nodded, and looked down at her new French manicure. Hunter clapped her hands, and Emily shot up.

"So, anything new guys?" she asked. Emily smiled smugly; they did this activity everyday and it launched some of the best conversations- like the time Maria was going to Italy. Everyone was talking about if the carbs in the pizza there were okay to let slide by or not.

"I'm getting my hair cut and dyed today." Emily threw in. Immediately, the girls fired off.

"What color?"

"How short?"

"Where at?"

Julie snorted. "God, your gonna be more of a city girl."

Emily smiled. "City girls are the ones with the swag, hon." she picked up her Coke and took a long sip. She enjoyed being queen.

"Hey Noah." Macie Peterson smiled and slid beside Noah at the table.

"Oh, hi Macie." Noah Hanna looked down at his hands. He was still freshening up to Macie. They were never friends to begin with; always biting the others' head off, and finally, they had called a truce. But it was so hard to stay friends with Macie. They weren't on the same page on most things.

"So Noah, got yourself a new girlfriend yet?" Macie asked, turning towards him. Noah shook his head no; he didn't like talking about relationships. His last one with Ashlyn Walker had ended roughly. And he had recently learned that Madison Smith was stalking him.

"No. And I don't plan on getting a new one anytime soon, Mae." he looked her dead in the eye.

"Why not? You could basically get anyone you wanted!" she sighed.

"I just don't want a girlfriend."

"I'm gonna find you a girlfriend, don't you doubt that."

"No, Macie..." Noah called out, but Macie had bounded off. He knew he was defeated. Once Macie's mind was made up, there was no turning back.

So what did you think? This is sort of based off a true story...all the first names are actually my friends' names (NOT THE LAST NAMES!), and my friend Macie is actually trying to set me up with a guy named Noah..I don't know if I like him like him or not...but hopefully after this story ends, something will have happened. :D
love you guys!
lo.
