This is my attempt to do this exercise that was once done by Rob Turner at FunctionalPS.com. This exercise trains 2 out of the 3 planes of movement, frontal and transverse, as well as working the core stabilizers. A regression to this exercise would be to do this with the foot on the floor, working on one plane at a time, then with the shin on the swiss ball, doing on one plane and slowly building up to two planes. A progression can be adding a pushup in between or holding on to an unstable surface with both hands, such as a medicine ball or BOSU.
