This vehicle uses the Perrin Shifter Bushings

Perrin requests that you drop the transmission with a jack in order to install - this video will show that you DO NOT have to drop the transmission.

I believe this is a common problem in Civics. Most that I have driven tend to feel very loose and shake while (With exhaust work). Bushings should help reduce the amount but a good short shifter (B&M being one) will definitely have a greater chance of ridding of it. =)

It's probably due to the route design of the linkage itself. I would definitely try the bushings.

For 2011 WRX it's quite different. Just take out the heat shield, and you can squeeze your hand in there enough to take the 12mm nut out, and then slide the arm and push the bushing out. I pushed the bushing out with a screw driver, and this was the hardest part. The arm will not have enough clearance to drop down, you'll be with your hands up the whole time.

Putting it back, put the bushings first on the arm, then slide it on the pin, otherwise they won't go in the arm, they fit very tight.
