'don't ask don't tell' should be replaced by 'who gives a shit'

@jayex0x0 I agree totally. Gays deal with that kind of thing their whole lives. Rejection is a part of life. As for getting a crush on a straight guy, it happens. If we couldn't deal well with that we would not have survived long enough to reach adulthood...lol.

@TheIceDragon77 I agree, sexuality should not be allowed to be a distraction. As for heterosexuals there are restrictions, you are allowed to date others of different ranks and you can not date anyone within the same chain of command.
As far as gays go, I would not be opposed to a scenario where they wouldn't get kicked out just for word slipping out that they are gay so long as they don't display flamboyant and openly gay behavior (sexuality being a distraction)

@Alexn1067 Alright, you have a point. But if that were the case, then why dont we silence all voices in the military? Straight/bi/gay, nobody can speak anything of their sexuality, whom theyre attracted to, what/who they like, what theyre into, what they like to do in their free time, etc. Course, that wont happen.

@TheIceDragon77 true, but since when was the military an organization for self expression? It never was, in the service, its not about you, you are one of many...your needs take a back seat....its rough but we have a volunteer military at the moment so nobody puts a gun to your head and makes you join.
-
@Alexn1067 That is only partially true. While they COULD serve, they would have to be quiet about any relationships they could be in, who they could be attracted to, and essentially have to pretend that they were something that they are not, otherwise be discharged.

gays were always allowed to serve, they just weren't allowed to be flamboyant

I sooooo wish you were my youth pastor or something I love all the points you bring up and I could not agree more with you on the stuff you say!

to answer the question if people in the same unit fall in love or start dating they would have to follow the Uniform Military Code which doesn't allow for sexual relationships between Officer and Enlisted or people of different rank and they dont allow for people of the same rank either. If they are on Duty and in the Uniform or are deployed to a foreign Country so yes the Military does have a recourse for any issues that could come up. Per the UMC
Lovingly, I will say... it isn't about who we sleep with... who we love. Love you david... just want to get you off of thinking of us in terms of sex. Hugs.

The romantic relationship issue also exists with women serving in the military. I assume the recourse for homosexual unwanted advances would be similar to the recourse for heterosexual unwanted advances. No reason they wouldn't have a good game plan for that.
As to bullying, I am under the impression that addressing this is what the training period prior to appeal was for. Or at least I hope so. But, we will see.
Good vid, as always.
