definitely compressor surge. you can hear the air getting chopped up when it comes back into the compressor housing.

Its a stock turbo.. What possible bolt on other than a filter could you have done?

Yes it is and for everyone asking what set up I have. it has all hard piping on a t25 and a maf translator which allows you to vent out the bov . No I don't have problems with it either .. .. Although I don't own it anymore
