500 Bourke Street in Melbourne's CBD was constructed in 1978 and when its redevelopment is complete it will be a leading example of sustainable office accommodation. The high-rise building is owned by ISPT and accommodates nab's city headquarters.
The redevelopment began in December 2007 and is one of Australia's first and probably finest examples of concurrent refurbishment of both base building and fit out. The design has achieved a five star Green Star Design rating from the Green Building Council of Australia and it is expected to achieve a four star NABERS Energy rating as well.
