The first in a two part special of the Ffestiniog Railway's Quirks & Curiosities event, filmed on Sunday 2nd May 2010.

Quirks & Curiosities was a gathering of strange and unusual vehicles to run on narrow gauge rails. They included the likes of a chain driven chassis powered by a Land Rover, a quartet of vertical boilered engines, the replica Spooner boat, and lots more besides

Locos featured in Part 1 include:

5) Ffestiniog 'medium' Hunslet 0-4-0 Lilla
6) Lyster RM2X Railtruck 56371
7) The Statford Barn Railway's rail mounted Land Rover
8) Replica De Winton 0-4-0 Leary
9) The Launceston Railway's vertical boilered 0-4-0 Perseverance
10) The Amerton Railway's vertical boilered 0-4-0 Paddy
11) Ffestiniog Double Fairlie David Lloyd George
12) Ffestiniog Hunslet 2-4-0 Blanche
13) Ex Penrhyn Hunslet 0-4-0 Edward Sholto
14) Ffestiniog 'George England' 0-4-0STT number 2 Prince

  • Gotta love those double-fairlies! Seems the Ffestiniog has a lot of unique engines there; is that a "coffee pot" engine I see?
