"the bigger the kite, the higher you fly" ??

Not really, I can get higher with a 5m2 kite with 40knots then some1 with a 21m2 flysurfer in lot less winds.. Check your facts before making a show about kitesurfing >.<

@treyfl1p - This was filmed nearly 10 years ago and since then, the sport of kitesurfing has grown exponentially. The wind gusts in Hawaii are unlike anywhere else in the world. Trade winds that come in off the ocean can be much faster than 40knots, as was very clearly shown in this video. Also, we never produced a show about kitesurfing. This was one segment in a show about adventures in Hawaii. Perhaps it is you, trey, that should check your facts.

Who is this Trey dude? That was an awesome video. Not to get too technical, the television producer was correct basically. The bigger the power kite, the more lift you will achieve. Hey Trey….. Your 5m power kite will have a difficult time propelling my 6’6” 240 lbs frame into the air than a 21m power kite, so it is you that should check your facts dude. Go bad mouth someone else’s video.

man. I just now got back from my first kitesurfing lesson, after about 5 seconds with the kite (hadn't even got on a board yet!) i caught a gust and went up. Only 25 feet, but i was pretty terrified all the same...
