La Fundación Niños de los Andes (The Children of the Andes Foundation) is a non-profit organization created for the protection and rehabilitation of an increasingly vulnerable sector of society: boys and girls living in the streets under conditions which violate their fundamental rights. Through a number of specially adapted programs and services, we offer these children real solutions which improve their quality of life and aid their physical, mental and spiritual development. We recognize them as members of society with rights.
We are funded through donations from individuals and companies who decide to act with social responsibility, campaigns and events promoted by the administration, as well as finance for specific projects from international organizations.
Our policies are established according to Colombian legal requirements, and as such all the centres valid operational licences and a Legal Team provided by the ICBF (The Institute of Family Wellbeing). We are audited by Deloitte and are monitored by a Fiscal Inspector appointed by the General Assembly.
The birth of our Foundation is marked by the individual social compromise of Papá Jaime, who decided to fight for those whose childhood is marked by suffering, offering them medical attention, food, affection and a somewhere to live.
