  • "are you free for dinner?"

shut down alain. women don't like philosophers. you spent the entire program telling us why.

that lass wants a thick haired, well built footballer whom she can produce babies with - not enjoy a fulfilling life with an effeminate romantic.

  • "The darkest thinkers can sometimes, paradoxically, be the most cheery." Amen! Great Video!

(Other brilliant darkies include Friedrich Nietzsche and Aleister Crowley... check em' out!)

  • Schopenhauer's idea of love is a very masculine one. Men do tend to look for pretty women. But us women have two kinds of men: the affectionate, kind and smart one that may be a great for raising offspring and the tall athletic one with genes worth spreading.

  • Hmmm. And he left out the most important point of LOVE in Schopenhauer: for happiness, we have to strive to overcome the Will to Live, or transcend above it. Only then are we set free from the phenomenal world. I wonder if Alain thought of including a section on Wagner's Tristan & Isolde which took Schopenhauer's concept of Love as its central theme....

  • why would he expect her to have dinner with her to talk more after they just talked for hours about philosophical stuff

  • @PPocket1984 Where can I find this interview?

  • ahahahahahaha

what a great pickup line xD

  • tybaltyrant - funny you say that because according to Alain in a recent interview, this woman and him ended up falling in love. They lasted a few years too.

  • hey! - he may be a little effeminate, but i used to fancy him so much - you could tell he identified with schopenhauer's big brain

  • so true! - a year old comment, so if you're still alive - here's to you!

  • His influence on Wagner was immense.
