This is a (poor quality) snippit from one of my favorite Documentaries "The Beales of Grey Gardens" which is the follow up release to the origional "Grey Gardens" documentary (which Im obsessed with). Big Edie wants Little Edie to change her outfit and then losses her temper. Then a fabulous photo/video montage of Little Edie and her eccentric outfit choices for the day to the tune of Hildegarde...."Revolutionary Costume" indeed. I love these gals...in all their disarray!!

  • If you lived 20 odd years with your Mother, you too would dress up with things around the house!

  • My heart breaks for the both of them........it's clear there is Mental Illness...........no doubt....who would let his mother and sister live in such a fashion......let alone Jackie O's aunt and cousin...........come on............

  • Love these amazing women!!

  • Little Edie's mother hindered her in many ways. Any sense of expression Little Edie display her mother stops it. I do not know if in the beginnig her mother was completely jealous of her daughter and hindered many opportunities given, but after a while. Little Edie just could not escape her isolation. Both women? I cannot keep my eyes off of them, they are captivating. Little Edie was broken many years before the documentary. Her mom and her father's abandoment had a lot to do with that.

  • @not2seri0us I agree. Both are very classy ladies. Edie is a beautiful person. Very delicate.

  • this is one of my favorite parts of the beales of grey gardens...."just put the damn thing on!" i roll every time.....

  • Love it!! Great vid!!

  • Most worrying thing in all this is that so many describe these 2 as completely nuts. Sorry, I don't see it, and probably why I have a hard time 'conforming'. Imaginative, youthful and non conformist. So many people are so bland and dull and need so much artifice to exist. Little Edie is everything with nothing because as already said her breeding, genetics and multi-intelligences carry her through.

  • I agree with all that I am reading about t Edie. A woman ahead of her time. She was a beautiful woman with a natural elegance and style that could not be taken from her no matter what happened around her.

  • what never ceases to amaze me is how did Edie look so fabulous & so colour co-ordinated...when as we have seen from GG they lived in such an unkempt house!? who did the washing & ironing??? where did Little Edie store her fab outfits???!
