NS2 Dynamic Infestation Prototype

This is a prototype of dynamic infestation technology for Natural Selection 2. In this video, infestation geometry is procedurally generated over a standard Half-Life 2 BSP level without any additional work from the level designer. The infestation surface is rendered using normal mapping with Phong illumination.

We're investigating this technology as one of the key new elements for Natural Selection 2.

wrong, this was done on the source engine. this was made a long time before they decided to make their own engine. he even says its done on HL2 maps.

The current implemented infestation is only a prototype. And yes, this video is still amazing after all these years.

@RMJ1984 In a recent interview the developer stated that the current infestation is only a prototype and that they fully intend for the finished product to look as good as this. Here's hoping they stay true to their word.

well if this isnt gonna be in NS2, its gonna be total crap. flat 2d infestation sucks, as it is atm,. we need this.
