@c7h30r30 Its funny how you say he should shift out of first gear sometimes. I own a 2009 R1 and you can cruise around in 1st gear doing like 45 mph and still be under 6k rpm's because first gear is so tall. Im not trying to bash you because it does sound like he waits a while to shift but still its an R1 and it can handle it.

I own a Ducati 1198, and this sounds like my brother's Monster with Termi's... I like where Yamaha is going with this. I don't care what anyone says, the R1 is very comfortable to ride on for the more street riders like myself.
