You clearly misunderstand the dynamics of the mainstream media and were not paying attention to the interview. Jessica Cory is not a Representative for the republican party in the sense that you are implying. She is a concerned citizen who happens to be a successful lawyer and "lifelong Republican". Shes certainly not part of any experiment created by them. She's just voicing her opinion.
I think that after the republican party lost all credibility politically, there expermenting with different approaches to policy and this topic is an example of that it's possibly the only reason she wasn't torn apart by a very conservative news station. I think this is the smartest thing republicans could do at the moment is have a good serious look at what the American people want.
Wow fox news, you never seem to let it go. Is non-biased journalism out of the question? How about not making a counter argument in very question you ask her? I blame the media for pot being illegal still, not the governement. 90% of nightly news show presents mariuana in this biased way, and of course viewers will believe it if they don't do their own research.
Let me also add that there are plenty of people with seriously immoral, evil, or fucked up thoughts and actions, all while "straight." Shit, the world would be a much nicer place if more people did smoke MJ.
"But MJ is a mind-altering substance!" Well, no shit, reporter lady--that's one of the reasons to use it. Heaven forbid I'm responsible for my own consciousness. Is this fucking Orwell's 1984 or what? Is she scared that a puff of the demon weed is gonnna send hordes of non-blonde junkies out to rape and defile her? That society is going to collapse? Seriously, what the fuck?

Stop buying into the false left-right paradigm. It'll get you nowhere.

It's good to hear someone else say legalizing marijuana is politically conservative. This is how we'll get the red states onboard.
