Genesis Dance On A Volcano Studio version (drums by Jouxplan

- Me trying very hard to drum along to one of the greatest songs Genesis ever created. Only Genesis could produce such an incredible song in 7/4; and only Phil Collins could create a drum part like this. It is horribly difficult to copy, in all sorts of different ways, right from the opening bar to the closing crash. I think this is Phil Collins at the height of his powers on a drum kit (Riding The Scree excepted). Strangely enough, my cover here is by no means spot-on, and it certainly could have been tighter, but I 'aint Mr Collins. I pull some good faces though.....

I played drums for about 7or8 yrs when i was only 12 -13 Beatles Hermans Hermits you get the point.Then i saw Genesis and watched Phil play drums.Next i saw Led Zep ,ELP Carl Palmer and i knew i could never play like that.So i took up guitar best thing i ever did .

@ChaoticDayZ If it makes you feel any better, I still look at Genesis, Zep, etc and wonder if I ever made the right decision myself :-) I too can never play like them, though it is great fun trying!

Hi Jouxplan. I think you can learn a lot from Nirad .... It modulates his shot perfectly and I think if you look closely you will see that the song is not so complicated ...
