This is me(first solo [Matt Velasco]) playing Piece in G minor by Gabriel Pirne.Got a 1 at solo and ensemble.I do realize that a couple notes did not come out on my tenor sax. That's just because that night, my saxophone had a little key messed up and some of the notes dealing with the key didn't want to come out. And,also, my reed was pretty old and out of shape.^^; So sorry if it doesn't sound right on some parts. But other than that everyone I know loved it and I was grateful to recieve their compliments. But sounded much better at the actual competition.

Next is Adam Romero(second solo) playing Scherzo in C minor(I edited the name because I originally put G minor...oops) on clarinet. He also recieved a 1 at solo and ensemble. This would have been two seperate videos but my sister didn't push stop. She left it still recording. So sorry if you don't want this up Adam.^^; He did a really great job and had a great sound. He does squeak a little but gets over it and keeps on playing. So good job Adam and keep the solos coming! He was also grateful to recieve the compliments.

  • OMG I PLAYED THIS LAST YEAR!!! I like this solo very much personally. but i played it faster. i wasnt sure on whether playing the fast version or the slow version and i ended up choosing the faster one. it was fun. great job on this performance.!!!

  • I actualy played it a little faster as well!lol In the audition room anyway. My accompanist, Mrs.Olsen decided to slow it down for the performance. And thank you very much! Hopefully I will have mine from this year's contest up!

  • For heaven sakes I was fat! And i sounded exactly like my brother. The beginning sounded like I was trying to kill myself at the same time I was playing and the clarinet was a cheap plastic sams club clarinet.... Man I had issues in those days. I played it so slow!!!!

  • You weren't fat Adam! Look at me back then and now and then see who's fat!lol I weigh 224lbs.!You had better tone than I did!

  • thats funny this is the best solo my director could give me too :/ it kinda sucks that there arent many choices for tenor sax specifically and the list of songs for solo and ensemble is pretty lame but i still think you did pretty well :)

  • I know what you mean hahaha. And I'm glad that someone views how hard it is for tenors to get music just as I do! And thank you very much! I really appreciate that =].
