Meet three people who made Army nursing their career. CPT Felecia Hudson is a Critical Care Registered Nurse and, after 13 years in the Army, loves what she does. 2LT David Overton, a Medical Surgery Orthopedics Nurse, pursued his undergraduate degree under the Army's "Green to Gold" program. CPT Gwen Mueller was a civilian nurse for 10 years before deciding to join the Army to pursue greater challenges. Being an Army nurse allows them to make a difference.

  • If you have no degree at all then yes you would have to go to boot camp and apply to become a nurse or you could go to a 4 year college and go through the Army ROTC program and become a nurse and get a commission once you graduate. Then you would just go to OBC before your duty starts. There are a number or routes. Your best bet would be to contact a nurse recruiter and get all the info. you can and make the choice that is best for you.

  • If yoIf you are already a RN with a BSN then you would have to go to OCS (Officer Candidate School) in order to assimilate you to Army life, then you would go to Nurse OBC (Officer Basic Course) to assmimilate you to being a nurse in the Army. If you do not have a BSN and you just have an ADN then you can do the same but you can only be an Army Reserve Nurse.

  • This is awesome. I can't wait to join the Army as a nurse. I will finish my ADN in 3 1/2 months and start the BSN STRAP program with the Army hopefuly at the beginin of next year. I have already talked to a recruiter and she seems to be very honest about the details. I also have family members in other military branches and they all think it's a great idea for me to become an Army nurse. My DH also think it rocks. I am just a little worry about my 2 and 3 years old boy and baby girl.

  • I have a question if you could help me. Does a nurse have to go through training and boot camp in order to be a nurse? or how does that work I have always been curious about this

  • I want to be a nurse in the army so I like this video. :)

  • ARMY LEADS THE WAY!! I'm a former Army Medic, and I loved this video!
