Reference made to TNA world appeals to rescue the tiger terrorists
Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva has referred to the appeals made to the world by the Tamil National Alliance to come to rescue the LTTE which is breathing its final breath.
The Minister made this reference in response to an adjournment proposal brought forward by TNA group leader R. Sambandan. The Leader of the House said the intention of the proposal made by R. Sambandan is to seek international help at a time when the LTTE was facing defeat in the battlefront. The international community had no right to mediate in Sri Lanka's sovereignty. It was Prabhakaran who handed in the cyanide capsule to the Northern children while sending his children abroad for further studies. The President is not geared to permit this brutality to reign.

Meanwhile, Parliamentarian Wimal Werawansa, President of the Jathika Nidahas Peramuna said all political parties should reach a consensus to further strengthen the victories which are being achieved by the war heroes, deviating from political agendas. He told Parliament that public representatives should have a clear awareness of such proposals brought forward by TNA members at a time when the LTTE was breathing its final breath. It is not a surprise that such proposals were being made at a time when the LTTE which was waving war flags, are now in the process of displaying white flags. The troops are in the environs of Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu. He said that the proclamation of a ceasefire made by the LTTE on such an occasion is not a surprise. He expressed his gratitude to the Government for not being trapped in this disaster. There may be various political agendas. But he added that the time has come for everyone to unite sinking political difference to achieve victory in the battlefront, as democracy should also be enthroned in the North.
