Here is a drive I was expecting to be more pleasant but still quite nice and enjoyable. I wanted to drive down the river Rhine, only the road builders had other ideas. So I ended up driving along it in parts but most of the time somewhere else!
My channel is one of the most prolific from Poland, although not amongst the most visited. With almost one film per day, one may be forgiven for thinking I do nothing else but I do have a day job as well. I have produced around 1,000 original films, most in English but also in Polish, French, Italian, Spanish and the occasional hint of German and Hebrew. My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects
Please feel free to ask questions in the public area or to comment on things you disagree with. Sometimes there are mistakes because I speak without preparation. If I see the mistakes myself, I make this clear in the text. Please also leave a star rating!
There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging -- http://www.ceepackaging.com - the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focusing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers.
Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!
Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!
In 1997 I founded Polish Business News http://www.pbn.com.pl .There are a number of business related films here and I intend to do many more on CRM (customer relations management).
My blog can be found via http://www.ceepackaging.com and http://www.pbn.com.pl and contains background information and more details of many of my films. This information is in English.
@alanheath I never thought of that either, I guess America can look pretty violent to a foreigner also. I live here I'm used to it. I've never been to California, I did go into Canada once. My parents have driven across the US about 4 times in a van, they have relatives in Alaska.
Your vids have great quality, even the older ones, compared to some YT vids. Some phone vids here look like the person used a toaster. Your vids show things I could never see any other way. Thanx again, Cheers

@clintonearlwalker I often sleep in the car - it does not bother me!
I will go to California probably next month. I invited a friend to come and see me but she is worried about how dangerous it is there. In my opinion, it is just the same (although perhaps I am not going into the dodgy areas!) It is a good job I am now filming in HD - the quality in my older films must be awful on such an excellent screen as you have.

@alanheath I never thought of that, eating out all the time, sleeping in motels, and I guess some of the food and accommodations aren't the best. I drove "lorry" for about 1 year, I know a little about it.
I've seen vids of Polish "football" matches, I've seen gang fights in the US that aren't as violent. Belgrade seems to be constant violence. There is a vid on the net of 3 19 year old Ukrainian maniacs that beat 21 people to death with a hammer.
I love your vids on my 61" inch TV.

@clintonearlwalker I know that I am lucky to have this type of life style but sometimes I don't want to travel. But there is nothing to be scared of - within reason of course!

@alanheath Thanx for that, I've heard of Prokorovka, but like most things behind the former Iron Curtain, there is almost no info about it here in the US. You say it was cold when u went there? I had always assumed the climate in the former Soviet Union resembled Jamaica :) (especially Siberia)
I can't over emphasize how lucky I think u are to be able to travel to these places. I would still be scared to death to travel past the former Berlin wall to this day. Thanx for your great uploads!!

@clintonearlwalker Kursk was probably the largest tank battle of all time (although there are at least a couple of other contenders). The biggest battle was at a place called Prokorovka. I went there in January 2006 but it was so cold that I was more interested in getting in the warm than anything else!

@alanheath I meant to go to Magdeburg last week but instead took another route and went via Leipzig visiting Colditz. I was in Magdeburg two weeks ago but did not have time! I will get there eventually!!

@alanheath Thanx for that. For most of my life, I was only aware of American WW2 movies and cinema, which to a certain extent is propaganda. Since I got a computer with Youtube mostly, I've found out a great deal about the war that I would have never known.
It seems there is a post here, I don't know if it's a movie or not, about the battle of Kursk. Gigantic numbers of tanks on both sides of that slugfest.

@clintonearlwalker Someone asked me last night which are the best three WW2 movies. I chose the Bridge at Remagen, Stalingrad (1992) and Downfall! It is a very good - and accurate - film!

I just watched a remarkable German movie last night posted on Youtube called "Downfall". It's about Hitlers final days in the bunker, and I'm pretty sure most of it is accurate as the info for the film was taken from the survivors of the bunker. There were more survivors of that bunker than I thought.
