Lovebird vs. Old English Sheepdog - who's the boss?

Zipporah & Jasper my Old English Sheepdog. The lovebird often escapes her cage and this is the first time we saw what goes on when we're not home. He wouldn't let us take the bird either - had to wait for her to fly away. He can get protective like she's his "herd of sheep." They are both facing the tv watching the Tennis Channel.
