Hearns at his devastating best. Sadly Shuler died of a motorcycle accident just after this fight. I have collected fights since the early 80s. I have thousands of fights many first generation copies. I will soon be putting up for sale my entire collection. I will be uploading various fights as a taster. I have some very rare classics some that I haven't seen listed by other collectors so asume I may have the only copy available. I really don't have the time or bandwidth to upload many long fights so will be posting highlights to show both a taste of the fight action and quality. Obviously You tube compresses the files during upload and will only allow 10 minute segments. Hope you enjoy the uploads. Please subscribe and contact me for full lust available for sale.

  • Good point! Steel was a decent ref for the most part, but did make some wierd decisions....some say he favoured Kings fighters....remember the count out of Meldrick Taylor v Chavez with seconds to go...Taylor was way ahead and would have got the verdict ???

  • @jesusneverexisted300 i thought he was 6'2

  • Recuerdo que el arbitro Steele fue muy criticado por haberle contado a un boxeador que a todas luces no reaccionaba.

  • Thomas Hearns is not 6'1. Thomas Hearns is 6'3.

  • THAT RIGHTTTT HAAANDDDDD! MY GOD!!!!

  • @TheBoxingworld Yes Steel did make some weird decisions, remember the fight almost 4 years later when Chavez fought Randell for the 1st time, King paid Steel to take two points away from Chavez for low blows and cost Chavez his title. However, in the 1st Chavez Taylor fight King paid Steel to allow Taylor to get away with many low blows. I can't count the number of times Meldrick hit JCC on the hip, an illegal punch. Yeap he made weird decisions and they were all in Kings fighter's interest.

  • @odyzzeus Hearns jab was a nightmare for any boxer, not talking about a slugger or brawler like Barkley or Hagler would could box or brawl. Jones isn't the type of fighter who attacks unless he knows he has he man at a tremendous disadvantage. Hearns was to be feared. Hagler was one of the 1st fighters to ever attack TH at the beginning of a fight and he walked through a hell storm. The only time I ever seen Hagler grab and hold. RJJ was to be feared too.

  • @odyzzeus Like I said it is a tough fight to pick, Ring or KO magazine, a long time ago picked Hearns to be Jones. Jones beating up on over matched opponent after, after over matched opponent got boring. Jones was a little faster than SRL and hit hardrer, I'm sure. But SRL speed, never bothered Hearns. In their 1st fight Hearns was dominating this "superior boxer" so badly. SRL, showed his greatness though, and took the chance to get to TH chin. Dream match-up.

  • @sinusbradycardia I think Hearns' style and height and reach advantage will be a nightmare for Roy Jones. Hearns would stick his long awesome Jab at his face all night long, and if Jones leaps in with his punches like he used to do, that lightning quick & booming right from Hearns could easily spell disaster for Jones, I don't think he could survive a clean hard right from Hearns at all, Hearns right is so much more dangerous than anything Tarver can throw.

  • @sinusbradycardia Also there is no way that Jones would ever attack Hearns like Hagler did. Hell Hagler was one of only a few could have/did withstand a hell storm in the 1st 15 seconds of the 1st round. He caught Hagler with a solid left hook and straight right and then an uppercut, which cut Hagler. That was the only time Hagler had to grab and in his career due to being hurt. RJJ is a great fight, but IMO Hearns was greater. Hearns had the tougher competition.
