  • unfortunately the state of michigan doesnt allow any pepper spray stronger than 2% which i dont think would even stop an attacking butterfly!

  • @persebra Bear spray is approved as it is a pesticide for bears and registered in MI

  • One lucky guy. i read about this guy in my book. actually, if i am correct, playing dead is what saved him.

  • @gaozhi2007 His friend sprayed the bear with pepper spray.

how true- stand next to a car that's not moving, it's safe. stand next to a bear that's holding still, you will NOT be safe!

  • @blarson12

that's true. it's best to have several friends along, and all of you armed to the teeth with good protections. And DON'T sleep in a tent or in the open! they can even break down flimsy cabin doors, windows, etc (and have done so, also trailer doors) so a really heavy duty cabin, with heavy door and a bar across it, etc, with tiny windows and heavy shutters, is better to sleep in.

  • @johanneandrick

you wouldn't have time to remove shoes, and running would get you chased and eaten probly.

  • @corporatehippy

be careful what you advise, as grizzlies and black bears do things differently from each other. also black bears can come in brown, but if it has a hump at the back of the neck, that's grizzly.

  • @gaozhi2007

but i read that grizzlies are unique in that, as playing dead may not stop other bears from continuing to maul. one has to read up and take a lot of good advice before venturing anywhere in possible bear country.....

  • video is cool but ... HOW ABOUT 720p DUDE??

  • Have to remember this. I go camping in the Appalachian Mountains a couple times a year. The bears have always run away, but it's probably better to be on the safe side.

  • @corporatehippy Its very obvious that you have never spent time out in the woods. I not saying a local park, im talking 40 miles away from everything. Its just you and the bears. bears attack when spooked or if you antagonize them. been there done that. spooked them at least. Im working on my third can of bear spray in 5 years. they have 400 times the smelling ability of a human. they know your there before you know your there. native alaskan all my life so i know a thing or two about bears.

  • would not taking a bath for a month help in repelling bear attacks?

  • I got bear maced once, two feet away from my face, nothing more powerful.
