Hurt - A Vegeta Music Video

This is a video I made back in 2003 about my all-time favourite male anime character, Vegeta of Dragonball Z.

The song I used is "Hurt" by the Nine Inch Nails.

Before posting it on YouTube, I did some slight re-editing.

I am in no way, shape, or form affiliated with Dragonball Z, I am merely a fan creating music video homages to the characters and themes I enjoy :)

looking at 2:29-2:33 made a few tears sting at my eyes... 2:57-3:02 When it says "I'm still right here" I find it really sad, like they're focusing their attention on Goku instead of their father/husband and he's trying to get them to see him... At 3:02-3:09 it makes me uneasy to see him in such pain, like my heart being ripped out of its chest... 3:24 does Trunks die? I haven't seen the whole series yet with my brother, we are watching Dragonball on the computer and Kai when it's on tv

@SpicersApple In that particular clip, Trunks in knocked out, but he does indeed die, along with the planet Earth, which explodes (the scene right after). I won't spoil the whole thing for you, but I will say that Vegeta intended to save him, and then something (or someone) happened, that prevented him from doing so.

Actually...The Nine Inch Nails are the band that wrote and originally recorded "Hurt". Johnny Cash did a cover of the song later on. So nobody's copying Johnny Cash, that's for sure.

Oh my god. That was extremely beautiful, I LOVE it, and I am honored to have it as a responce to my Vegeta Hurt video. I think that this is the best Vegeta AMV I have seen...and I have seen a lot. You are amazing...but I am curious, that scene at the very end where it shows Vegeta surrounded by a bunch of killed off enimies, I don't remember in panning out like that in the Bardock movie, I just remember it showing Vegeta up close, no enimies surronding him...hmmm, am I remembering wrong?

Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I'm truly honored and appreciative to have such wonderful feedback towards my video! As far as the final scene, have you watched the American dub of the Bardock movie? If so, that version cut the ending somewhat. The original Japanese as well as other countries dubs do show the pan out with the bodies surrounding little Vegeta.

This is obviously the best DBZ video on Youtube and I think that you did an amazing job, actually it brought tears to my eyes at some points. Keep it up, and by the way, I subscribed and favorited.

awesome video, its one of the best ive seen, the song and video reminds of when vegeta gets killed by frieza and he talks to goku before he dies. great song choice, i really like the nin version, both are good, and yes nin did the song first but when johnny did the cover reznor said the song is no longer his, now im not gonna try and debate which is better, i love both versions...and once again you really nailed the song choice, vegeta was a really deep character..

This was very powerful... I think you did an amazing job putting this song together with the life of Vegeta. Put tears in my eyes! I like that you used NiN's version too, I think it was the best choice to fit. (Also, read through the comments, did not realize NiN was originally the writer of the song, nice to know that!)
