Hi there thx for the vid, I have a question :
So Hyper-V is typically the MS solution people use if they want to run several server instances i.e. virtual servers on one only physical machine?? Is it right?
Typically, one server can crash or slow down let's say and the other one or more keep running , right? If I am right, I wonder.. would someone run somehthing on the physical WinServer installation also other than just Hyper-V ? Thanx

@strangeloop Because they haven't clearly copied vmware.
question : when you add the virtual machine(windows 7), how long it takes to install? from this video it was like less than a min? how is is possible?

@binary0011 Hi, Windows 7 took ~30 minutes to install. I edited out most of the install to save time.

@Garofild You can create something called a cluster using the enterprise or data centre version of Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2 however you need some network attached storage for the PC's to share otherwise it will not work.

I am wondering if the performance in Windows Server 2008 using virtual machines is the same as VMWare's ESX or ESXi line, as you are already running an operating system on the machine.
As of now, the only thing that would make me consider making the switch from VMWare is (performance) and mainly hardware compatibility. As many who work with ESX know, hardware compatability is a pain. Pearhaps you could offer some insight into this?

@XtR0pX On the performance side of things ESX and ESXi offer better performance than Hyper-V and they are a lot more stable.
As for hardware compatibility, I believe that VMware has a list of approved servers. Where I work we run VMware ESXi 4.1 on a couple of HP ProLiant DL380 G4's and a G5 and it works very well.
