I love these videos. I guess I am in the "younger" generation you talk about in your videos. I am 25 and I own more wheel guns than semi-autos. My personal preference is a revolver, i just trust them more I guess. My favorite handgun I own is a stainless 7 round 686. Lack of interest in revolvers has probably helped me expand my revolver collection. The shop I got that 686 wanted more money for a used glock than that nice stainless revolver. Oh well, better for me.

@8wealthyone8 because the departments all changed to auto pistols, like the 9mm, 40 cal ect. i guess to get more ammo per weapon, but to me it dont look as tough as a big old .357 mag on the hip. I know a old cop that said , he used to get less bullcrap from people when he had a revolver on his hip and bullet loops, than after they changed to 9mm autos, people gave him more lip, something about a big revolver says shut the hell up :)!

I just got one of these at a gun show! 19-3, Blued, 4 inch barrel.
Hey hickok, have you ever heard of the cracked barrel stories? Some owners develop cracks at the base of the barrel where it meets the cylinder after it fires 1 too many magnum rounds. Are there any types of magnum rounds that the gun might prefer?

@hickok45 kind of like firing from the hip and fanning with your left hand, I've actually shot with a few guys who were extremely accurate and fast at fanning from the hip

first handgun im gonna buy when I turn 21, in any of the barrel lengths but id prefer the 4 inch personally.

I do not think people realize how good of a shot this man is with a handgun. Hitting anything at 80 yards with a handgun is very very difficult. Even the close range double-action shooting he does on multiple targets is a hard skill to master. This man is a serious competition shooter that makes it look easy.
I would enjoy seeing some "training" videos and pointers from this gunner.

I truly enjoy your videos. My first sidearm was also a S&W Model 19 and like you, I let it get away, but am looking for another. I recall the gas ring going bad, sending it back to S&W and they repaired it, free. Do you know if they still offer a lifetime warranty as they did back in the day? Thank you. Life is indeed, good. :)

i have my 19-5 and it seems to have a hard time ejecting the spent cases after shooting them all... maybe its the ammo. maybe its the cylinder?

youv got me sold on the model19! im gunna try and find a good one thats been blued. though i would be willing to have it reblued even though it would drop the value of the gun i would like to have it looking all perty when im at the range.
Hicock, I notice you were cocking the hammer with your right thumb, try using your opposing thumb (left) you'll notice the gun doesn;'t jump thatway as you pull back on the hammer. If you're right handed and cock it with your right you'll notice the gun comes up off of target :)

@Scari45, You think? :-) If I were interested in shooting fast, I'd use double action, so it's really not an issue.

@hickok45 A lot of precision shooting guys who fire single actions use the left thumb method, it allows them to avoid shifting their grip and helps them retain greater accuracy.

@blackknight1356, Yep, I used to do that when I started cowboy shooting. Then I decided to be a "real" cowboy and shoot duelists (One-handed). :-) It's amazing how much speed one can get out of a single action shooting that way. I decided I'd use my semi-autos, though, if I wanted extreme speed. It just seemed a little sacrilegious trying to make a machine pistol out of my revolvers. :-)
