now see...most of agreethat the VOLT is way too expensive. What a way to give back to us taxpayers for bailing them out...offer these cars at a reasonable price and GM can take the loss and also be reimbursing us for the bailout. They can make profits elsewhere. The rub is, they dont wanna give up anything...big salaries etc...
@pakruy OMG...this isnt Communist CHINA...The Goveernment you are referring to is us!!!! You want all of that Research and Development coming out of your paycheck?! Because.....if our gov(we the people)invest in the future, it comes out of our pay. Corporations invest in the future through their profits and revenue streams, because.....they wanna stay in business.
@mustangdj1 yeah if you watch who killed the electric car...lots of people showed initial interest but when the cars were available, very few stepped up to the plate. I think the lease only option didnt help either.
@robertquentincobb heck yeah!! Im driving a 19 year old toyota that still works perfectly. I bet the Japanese tax payer didnt have to pay for it either.
yep I totally lost all respect for GM when they flew in on their Gulfstreams, demanding that the taxpayer pay for their screwups. Id take a 15 year old Toyota over a new GM vehicle.
@stillatrucken Im with you, my brother....GM showed us what they were really all about when the times were good. Now, they are in ado or die situation cuz the taxpayers cant keep bailing out these bloated, arrogant corps.
@robertquentincobb Like all new technologies, these cars are overpriced, comparatively. I did a similar calculation back in 05 on the purchase of my hybrid civic and came up with 10+ years to make back the difference. But it's not anymore of a "scam" than two equal quality pair of shoes - one carrying the Nike brand name and costing twice as much.
@kiiiro For once the gouvernment spend's it s money with intelligence.
