well it looks like i found the right spot.
i too was a projectionist for 30+yrs from the carbon ark drive-ins to the big multi-plexs. its not as easy as it looks .till now with the digital which i have worked with.
and yes, that is easy, till they break down
but they dont care about that... they will just give the customer a free ticket and hope when they come back they spend more on the pop corn and candy.
its sad because it is the end of, real film and real movie sets .

Excellent short film. I have to give this one a 5 out of 5 star rating. Thanks for posting.

My cousin is a Projectionist and he is as "thick as two short planks" If he can do it, anyone can.........he thinks he's a "Star"
There's nothing artistic or creative about being a projectionist, theyre just process workers, machine operators and nothing more....

Yeah everyone seems to think that being a projectionist is easy.. thats why you go to theatres and you have scratched prints, misframes, bad sound, poorly timed shutters resulting in ghosting, lab splices that were not removed , poorly focused bulbs , and all those imperfections that the average movie goer wont notice but that doesnt mean its not there. What im trying to say is that doing projection RIGHT is not easy. Sadly alot of people cant tell the difference
what happens when say the film jams and you get the melted look on the screen. does the theater get fined by the distributor for damaging the flim?

@lexmarks567 - depending on the damage yes the theater has to buy the print. But it has to be a lot of footage. The burns you speak of only destroys a couple frrames and can be easily sliced out.
