Mendelssohn Piano Trio Op. 66, No. 2, Allegro energico e con fuoco (first movement) performed by Elmar Oliveira - violin, Rafael Figueroa - cello, John Novacek - piano; at Parloff Chamber Concerts April 19, 2009.
What music!!! It's so regrettable that (as wonderful as they are) our perpetual concert soloist choices are super-talented children...I would go far and pay lots more to hear Elmar Oliveira, who is outstanding and satisfying in every way: musical integrity, sheer beauty of sound, etc. Not enough opportunities to hear these gifts!!
I love this trio so much. It is exquisite, elegant, and it sings. Every time I go to the Marlboro Music Festival in Vermont, I look for it, on the schedule board, and listen to as many rehearsals as possible.

Fantastic trio. Elmar Oliveira is one of the great violinists in the world. As a portuguese violinist, I´m extremely proud to know him. Bravo all!
