Too bad that Americans don't seem to have the will to defend themselves on their own soil. King George's taxes were atrocious. They were mild by today's standards. Instead, Americans keep electing socialists like Obama.

@cometsight yeah unfortunately we forgot this during Vietnam and was fooled by the very thing we helped pioneer how ironic.they simply out lasted we lost support for the war at home just like the British population started to oppose it during the revolution there are a lot of similarities so much for learn from history or be doomed to repeat it.

@TNREBEL40348 we did. Often. The greatest British casualties at Lexington and Concord occurred when they were marching between the two cities; the rebels hid behind trees and walls and shot at them as they went by. To line up across a field to shoot and be shot was considered honorable and fair at that time. Guerrilla warfare was considered an unorthodox method. But we used it, and the U.S., with a smaller, worse-equipped military won because of it.

BRAVO ZULU! To all those who gave in the name of being an American Patriot. Always remember the Battle of Brooklyn Aug 27th 1776. Yeah! it was in Brooklyn, NY that our Nation newly formed Army met, first engaged and fought General Cornwallace British Troops. Also it is where our Nation 1st Memorial to our POW stands in Fort Greene Park. To honor those Patriots who were jailed and died on board the British prison ships anchored in Wallabout Bay, Brooklyn, especially, the deadly HMS Jersey.
