this vid crack me up. It reminds me of what happened to me drunk and hungover camping went to bed at 3 a.m. was woke up at 6 a.m that first bolt reminds me because I was sitting there waiting for storm to stop so I could run up hill to have a pee. I just popped my head from under the canopy when a bolt like yours struck. Scard the freakin crap right out of me. I had a stomach the whole day.

It's time to you to pack back and go to a safe and dry motel until the storm stops!!!LOL!!!

lol, at end, BANG! 0:20

It's actually not a streamer. Tis merely a common ghosting effect which happens all the time with bright and close lightning on a video camera. Nice close bolts though.

i was able to pause it at the streamer part, i can see it is actually ghost effect

sorry I'm laughing but your trying so hard to get everything in the car and not worrying about you, I bet you think twice now

looks like the chenney lake storm
fukk man! You do realise what that red small strike was before the initial major one! There was a streamer that left your tarp! A streamer is a weak charge of lightning that rises up (there may be many in a given area) and only one of them connects to charge in the cloud which allows the flow of electricity (aka a lightning strike). Your so lucky that streamer (thats visible for a half a second just before the major first strike) didn't connect with the charge in the cloud or it woulda hit you!

I only realized after I looked at the video. What makes it even more lucky is that the streamer came from a 4.5kg gas bottle with a 4ft stainless tube which holds a lamp! That's what's standing next to me.
