Nick: So, uh, I'll catch you guys later.
Selena: Yeah, sure.
Nick: *Smiles and leaves*

In the guestroom.

Selena: *Slams the door* Ugh! Your freaking husband ruined everything!
Demi: *Scoffs* Yeah? I think he saved you there. YOU ruined it yourself.
Selena: What?! Me?! How?
Demi: Shaking hands? SERIOUSLY?! What were you DOING?! Talking to your crush or closing a business deal?!
Selena: *sighs* You KNOW I'm not good at this!
Demi: REALLY?! Girl, you gave Meaghan advice during her teen pregnancy!
Selena: Well, when it comes to myself I'm an idiot!
Demi: Fine. Here's some advice from me to you. When you're talking to him, pretend it's not even him. Pretend it's some other guy friend of yours. Like... I don't know! Like... David, or Gregg! And if that doesn't work, look at the top of his head. I know it sounds stupid, but just do it. That always worked for me. Just be yourself.
Selena: *Sigh* Fine.
Nick: *Barges in* Hey girls, you wanna eat? Food's set on the table.
Selena: *Walks up to him and looks at the top of his head* Um, yeah, sure.
Nick: *Puts his hand on his head and starts feeling around* Is there something on my head?
Selena: *Looks down to his eyes, hers dagger from his left eye to right, left to right* What? No! I was just.. I was-- *sighs* never mind.
Nick: You have pretty eyes. *Smiles*
Selena: Really? *Blushes and looks down*
Nick: Yeah. *Claps his hands* Anyway, food's ready. If you guys want some, you can come down. *Leaves*
Demi: *Runs up to Selena* Ooooh!
Selena: *Smiling uncontrollably* Oh hush.
Demi: Well, you SEE? He wouldn't've cared if something was on his head if it were someone else!
Selena: OH PLEASE. I WOULD have cared even if it WEREN'T him.
Demi: *Annoyed* Will you just let me be your big sister?! *Walks out and goes downstairs*

After lunch, Demi and Selena are in Selena's room drinking hot chocolate since it was freezing cold. [Pretend It's December]

Selena: People at school can't find out.
Demi: And they're not going to, either. I'll just have to talk to Joe. And if he's gonna be difficult about it, I'll just have to drag in our teachers and principal.
Selena: Are you sure?
Demi: No. But it's not like I have a choice, anyway.
Selena: Fine...
Demi: Well, I'll just go now. *She leaves. When she goes to Joe's room, he's taking a nap* No wonder it's quiet in the house. *She nudges him* Joe? *Nudges again* Joee! *No movement. She sighs and looks around the room. She spots a football, grabbed it, and threw it at Joe*
Joe: *Startling, he wakes up* Holy shit! What the fuck, Demi?!
Demi: We need to talk.
Joe: We're breaking up already?
Demi: Shut up, Joe. I'm serious.
Joe: What? ...Hurry you're boring me.
Demi: I don't want.. anyone, to find out... about us.
Joe: Fuck, neither do I. You're an embarrassment. *Realized what he said* I didn't mean it like that.
Demi: *Tearful, and looks down, then up, biting her lip. She walks out and into Selena's room*
Selena: Joe is fucking dead. This is the second time in a row!
Demi: No, it's okay. Forget him. *Wipes eyes* What time is it anyway?
Selena: I dont know, like 6?
Demi: Oh I think Nick is sitting downstairs alone. You wanna go hang with him?
Selena: Fine. *Leaves*
