I'm not the biggest fan of MAME, but I have a hard time saying no to a challenge.
Over at Arcade Otaku, a challenge has been issued by one of our admins, which he calls the Armed Police Batrider Unfair Challenge.
The rules are simple: using any B version of Batrider (I used Japan B), choose the Training Course but hold left or right on the joystick while selecting it so you play 2 stages instead of 3, then choose Player Select and select the weakest character in the game, his name is Jyuji. The best score wins!
Some notes about Training Mode. Autobomb is on. Autobomb is also extremely unforgiving; it activates only if you have at least 1 full bomb in reserve and makes your hitbox slightly larger than the character sprite so you'll see non-hits still trigger the autobomb. Your hitbox returns to normal once you have less than 1 full bomb in stock. The autobomb actually makes this challenge a bit more difficult, since you'll need some bombs in the first stage to get all the medals. You always play the same 2 stages in the shortened Training Mode.
We do it all in this run - hit max medal chain, manage rank a bit, and generally succeed.
I'm much more in my element in games like this as opposed to other games I have made videos of. I'm not really sure why but I just "get" how YGW's games work. I am desperately on the hunt for a Batrider PCB.
Oh, and this is not my best run. Wouldn't want to give away all my secrets, now would I? ;)
Update: So it turns out the challenge is to specifically use Type C (I'm using Type D in this video). It also turns out that I'm better at scoring with Type C anyway so now I have even a better high score :D
@CRTcade If you like Ibara and MMP! then you'll like Batrider - they were all made by the same guy (and are all in the same style, unlike Pink Sweets). Where Ibara is darker themed and MMP! more girl themed, Batrider is self-referential and humorous. Plus there's so many characters and so many secrets in Batrider that it will keep you busy for a long time.

Looks like a pretty cool game, heard the name but never really had seen any game play footage, so thanks for posting this. I know you're not a huge fan of MAME so much, just like me, but yeah, I sometimes use it to test out a game for a PCB that I'm thinking of buying. Good stuff as always my friend.

@xBULLETxSPONGEx Thanks! That autobomb sure is annoying though :-P
I'd love to get a hold of a PCB and give this game a proper video. It's one of the best shmups I've ever played.
